No, really, for once I’m not exagerating:

That’s a NDB6060L (48Amps continuous, 60V FET) mounted on an aluminium clad board, with thermal grease to that big-as-dick heatsink.

  1. I had no smaller aluminium chunks.
  2. I was not going to spend half an hour or more sawing that.

It’s being PWM’d with a 556 chip to control the led lighting in this friends restaurant, so they can decrease light intensity and enhance the color lanterns:
